Desert Lynx's Lone Wolf Oasis

Welcome to Desert Lynx's Oasis, a lonely Kai outpost in the arid Vassagonian Dry Main. I am your host, Desert Lynx. I hope that your visit is enjoyable.

This oasis is devoted to the Lone Wolf series by Joe Dever, one of the greatest science fiction/fantasy epics. Dever has woven a intricate world, Magnamund, upon the basic epic theme. The series' hero, Lone Wolf, is the last of an elite order of warrior monks named after their god, Kai. Lone Wolf swears vengeance on his enemies, the Darklords, servants of the dark god Naar, over the bodies of his slain brethren. His quest takes him through a world full of magic, mystery, monsters and wonder. He meets many engaging characters who add believability to the world of Magnamund. He must fight giaks, kraan, vordaks, helghast, and all manner of nasties and use his wits to survive. His destiny is to conquer the Darklords and become Supreme Master of the Kai.

The books are based on the choose-your-own-adventure concept and are enjoyable to play over and over because of the variety of possible story-lines and the books' ability to take you to a world where the differences between Good and Evil are crystal clear and Good can triumph over Evil.

Lone Wolf is known internationally by several different names: Einsamer Wolf, Ensamma Vargen, Lobo Solitario, Loup Solitaire, etc.

So, weary traveler, rest yourself, drink deeply of the refreshing water and feel welcome in Desert Lynx's Oasis. A good way to learn your way around is to take the tour.

The Sun is setting as you wander through the gate into Desert Lynx's Oasis. The Oasis is awakening after a long, hot day. Your bones ache after traveling from the nearest outpost. The evening breeze is moist and cool. You realize just how thirsty you are and look for somewhere to get some water. Occupying the West half of the enclosure, there is a still pool in the center of a stand of palm trees to your left. You dip your hand in the water and take an invigorating drink.Sitting down on the edge of the pool, you look more closely at your surroundings. There are several mud-brick buildings within the walls enclosing the Oasis. The aroma of freshly cooked food drifts from a building on the North which is labeled Parched Throat Tavern. Ahead of you, on the East, is the largest building which flies the flags of Sommerlund and of the Order of the Kai. You guess that this building serves as the Command Post and barracks for the Kai warriors that run the Oasis. To one side of the barracks, you notice a small, non-descript building. You ask a passing Kai monk about the purpose of this third building. Glancing over her shoulder, she replies "That's old Dusty Shelf's Study. You're welcome to visit but if you're looking for conversation, I'd look elsewhere."Your legs disagree with your decision to get up to investigate the Oasis. . .
